Local police warning of phone scam reported in area

Local police are warning of a phone scam being reported in the area.

From the Corinth police:

Be Aware Of Telephone Scams Going Around The Area!

We have had reports of people being contacted by someone claiming to be a relative that has been arrested and needing money. The scammers request the person send a money order or pre-paid card in order to assist their relative.

We have also had people calling claiming to be from the Social Security Administration and requesting Social Security Numbers.
