Report: Mississippians have one of highest tax burdens in US

According to a report by the finance website wallethub.com Mississippians pay over 9% of their income in state specific taxes. Overall, their rate of taxation is the 14th highest in the country.

The report takes income, property and sales tax into consideration. Mississippi is only slightly lower on the list than California.
