Mississippi high school student murdered days before he was set to graduate

A high school student in Mississippi was shot and killed just days before he was set to graduate, according to officials in Tupelo.

Dreshawn Williams, 18, of Tupelo was a senior at Tupelo High School and was scheduled to graduate this week. Tupelo high school released the following:

We are deeply saddened by the death of Dreshawn. Our hearts & prayers go out to the Williams’ family, his friends & fellow classmates.

Early Wednesday, Tupelo police charged Jacquez Dominique Calvert, 20, of 131 Pine Ridge Road, Houston, with murder. He was booked into the Lee County Adult Jail early Wednesday.

According to police, the incident happened late Tuesday night near downtown Tupelo.
