The 14th Mission Support Group removed 13 bags of trash, three tires and one metal sign from a 1.89-mile stretch of the parkway, the Mississippi Department of Transportation said.

The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor said it recently donated 100 laptops to the Mississippi National Guard. The office said the gift was meant to support the service members.

Jimmy W. Thrasher, 59, of Verona, was arrested March 13 and charged with burglary after items were reported stolen from a storage unit at Romie’s on Feb. 11, police said.

Tilar T. Thompson, 25, of Tupelo, was arrested March 13 and charged with aggravated domestic violence after a woman reported being assaulted, authorities said. A judge ordered Thompson held on $40,000 bond.
