Jabil to Invest $119 Million in New Manufacturing Facility in Mississippi
Jabil, a global provider of engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions, announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Marshall County, Mississippi. The project involves an investment of more than $119 million and is expected to create approximately 2,200 jobs.
The company will acquire and renovate an existing 1.5 million-square-foot facility to support its operations. The new location will serve clients in the data center infrastructure market, according to Jabil officials.
The announcement follows a separate initiative from Jabil’s healthcare division, which plans to invest around $70 million over three years to establish X-ray sterilization capabilities in Marshall County, the Mississippi Development Authority said. The agency is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program, with additional support from Marshall County, Accelerate Mississippi and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Jabil is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, and operates in more than 25 countries with approximately 140,000 employees. The company has served leading brands across industries such as healthcare, automotive, robotics, energy, and data center infrastructure for more than 60 years.
Governor Tate Reeves praised the investment, stating that it underscores Mississippi’s thriving manufacturing sector. “Jabil’s investment of more than $119 million will create 2,200 good jobs in North Mississippi,” Reeves said. “That is a massive number of jobs and another win for our state.”
Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork highlighted the significance of the project, noting that it demonstrates the state’s competitiveness in advanced manufacturing. “A 1.5-million-square-foot operation producing data center infrastructure isn’t a marginal project,” Cork said. “It’s proof we are in the game for high-growth sectors.”
Jabil executives emphasized the importance of the new facility in supporting the growing demand for data center infrastructure in the U.S. Matt Crowley, Jabil’s executive vice president of global business units, said the company is proud to deliver advanced manufacturing capabilities in Mississippi.
Marshall County Board of Supervisors President George Zinn III credited the project to strong collaboration among local and state partners. “This investment will bring tremendous economic benefits and career opportunities to our citizens,” Zinn said.
The Tennessee Valley Authority and Northcentral EPA also expressed support, with TVA Vice President Heidi Smith noting the partnership’s role in regional economic growth. Accelerate Mississippi’s Director Dr. Courtney Taylor stressed workforce development efforts to ensure the project’s long-term success.
