IUKA, Miss. — Aug. 24, 2026 — David Jerome Peek, 45, was sentenced Aug. 24 to 30 years, with 15 years suspended and 15 years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by five years of post-release supervision, the District Attorney’s Office said.
Peek pleaded guilty to two counts of identity theft. The District Attorney’s Office said he used stolen bank account information to purchase a vehicle and other items.
The case was investigated by the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office, with Jamie Reynolds as lead investigator, the office said. Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims imposed the sentence, and Assistant District Attorney Clay Cummings prosecuted on behalf of the state.
The District Attorney’s Office commended local law enforcement for protecting the privacy and sanctity of victims’ personal information, according to a news release issued by Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District.
