Lil Wayne appearances in Mississippi prompt turn-signal safety reminder

Drive Smart MS used the presence of Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. in Mississippi to urge drivers to use their turn signals, the agency said in a social media post.

The post said Carter, better known as rapper Lil Wayne, performed on the Mississippi Gulf Coast “yesterday” and was scheduled to appear at the Brandon Amphitheater in central Mississippi “tonight.” The post described him as a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and record producer, Drive Smart MS said.

Drive Smart MS reminded motorists that they are not alone on the road and that their actions affect other drivers, the post said. It said one of the easiest ways to avoid collisions is to use turn signals before changing lanes or turning.

The agency tied the reminder to the performer’s chart-topping singles and collaborations, the post said, urging drivers to “share the road” and drive smart while events bring extra traffic to the area.
