Mantachie woman arrested in alleged $11,026 Walmart embezzlement

Tupelo police said Alle Whitaker was arrested July 15 on a felony embezzlement charge after an investigation at a Tupelo Walmart.

The department said the alleged theft involved about $11,026 at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 316 South Gloster Street. The investigation led officers to Whitaker, police said.

Whitaker, 32, of Mantachie, was an employee with Walmart at the time of the report, according to police. She was charged with felony embezzlement, the department said.

Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Whitaker’s bond at $4,000, and the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, police said.
