Tupelo man arrested in commercial burglary
Tupelo police arrested a man after responding to a reported commercial burglary at Rayburn & Farris, 539 N. Green Street, on July 24, the department said.
Officers arrived at about 8:49 p.m. and observed a suspect attempting to flee, and took him into custody without incident, police said.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Preston Stokes, 55, of Tupelo, and charged him with burglary of a commercial building, the department said.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set Stokes’ bond at $5,000, and the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, police said.
