Man arrested in alleged vehicle burglary at Tupelo dealership

Rodney W. McDowell, 25, of Tupelo, was arrested June 15, 2026, and charged with one count of burglary of a vehicle, Tupelo police said.

Police said officers responded June 13, 2026, to 2710 South Gloster Street, the site of Lee Motors, after a report of a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, officers contacted a suspect inside a vehicle who was searching through it, the department said.

After further investigation, police identified the suspect as McDowell and arrested him on June 15, 2026, the department said.

Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered McDowell held on $20,000 bond on June 15, court records show. Police said the case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
