Miss. DPS honors Driver Services staff at annual assembly

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said its Driver Service Bureau held its annual General Assembly and training earlier this week and honored employees and stations from across the state.

The department said Captain Timothy Simmons and Mimzie Dennis of the Texas Department of Public Safety spoke to the group during the event.

The department named Cassandra Marsh assistant manager of the year; Teshia Johnson, CDL employee of the year; Ruth Evans, recipient of the 2025 customer service award; Quanza Harper, employee of the year; Amy Fortenberry, manager of the year; Tommie Taylor, longest-serving employee; Candis Hillman, most TalentLMS courses completed; Robert Knapp, operations employee of the year; Susan Patton, shortest wait time of the year; and Terri Shephard, highest percentage of organ donor registrations, the department said.

Station awards went to Canton for fastest transaction times of the year; Corinth for fastest transaction times and fastest wait times of the year; Columbia for fastest wait times of the year; Greenville for the most decreased wait times; Kiln for highest percentage of organ donor registrations; and Jackson for most transactions per year, the department said.

The department said it was proud of the Driver Services team and the work staff perform every day.
