Mississippi agencies warn of dangerous heat this weekend into next week
The National Weather Service warned Friday that dangerous heat stress conditions will build over the weekend into next week, agency officials said.
High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s and heat indexes could climb to 105 to 110 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency posted reminders urging residents to hydrate, wear sunscreen and take breaks, the agency said.
Officials urged people to follow guidance from the National Weather Service and the state emergency agency as the period of extreme heat approaches.
