Dangerous heat with heat index up to 115 expected across Mid-South, NWS says

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, warned that dangerous heat will persist across the entire Mid-South today, with heat index values as high as 115 degrees.

The agency urged residents to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves from heat illness.

The NWS said slightly cooler conditions and lower humidity are expected to arrive in the latter half of the week.
