Mississippi Department of Public Safety attends 16th annual fallen officer candlelight vigil

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in a social media post that its teams took part in the 16th Annual Fallen Officer Candlelight Vigil alongside Attorney General Lynn Fitch, the Chiefs of Police Association and the Sheriffs’ Association.

The department said the vigil honored “the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.”

The department added that it will “always stand behind our brothers and sisters in blue and honor the sacrifices they and their families have made in service to our communities across the state,” in the post.

The post was published by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s official account, which provided the account’s statement about the event.
