NWS Memphis cancels severe thunderstorm watch as storms wane

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said it has canceled a severe thunderstorm watch.

A few strong storms and periods of loud thunder remained over north Mississippi, the agency said, but the severe weather window was closing.

The NWS asked residents to send in any reports of weather conditions and to be cautious of receding water following heavy rainfall.

The agency urged continued vigilance as conditions can change and requested public reports to help with ongoing assessments.
