U.S. launches third round of strikes after Iran says it closed Strait of Hormuz
The U.S. military launched a third round of strikes against Iran on Saturday in response to an Iranian attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
Iran said it closed the Strait of Hormuz after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck the Cyprus-flagged container ship GFS, according to Iranian statements.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical oil trading passage and a frequent flashpoint for regional tensions.
