NWS Memphis issues heat advisory; warns of possible damaging winds in northwest Tennessee

The National Weather Service office in Memphis, Tennessee, said a Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight for the highlighted areas.

The agency warned a damaging wind threat may emerge this afternoon across northwest Tennessee in any strong to severe thunderstorms, though it said confidence in that threat is low.

The National Weather Service urged residents to remain weather aware, the office said.
