NWS warns of severe storms, possible tornadoes in parts of Mississippi
The U.S. National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, warned that severe weather is expected in portions of the state beginning the afternoon of April 29, 2026, and continuing into the evening.
The agency said heavy rain is forecast and warned of the possibility of damaging wind gusts, hail and tornadoes.
The NWS post advised motorists to check road conditions by downloading the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s MDOT Traffic app from the App Store or Google Play, or by visiting MDOTtraffic.com.
The warning was posted by the National Weather Service on its social media account, the agency said.
