NWS Memphis warns of possible severe storms tonight; tornado risk

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said a marginal to slight risk of strong-to-severe thunderstorms exists tonight, with the primary threats being damaging winds and one or two tornadoes.

The agency urged residents to enable weather-alert notifications through the overnight period to receive timely warnings, the post said.

The NWS Memphis post included a simulated radar image showing when storms could move through the Mid-South, the agency said.

The agency asked people to monitor its updates and local forecasts for changing conditions overnight, the post added.
