Public Meeting Scheduled for U.S. Highway 11 Widening Project in Forrest and Lamar Counties

Residents of Forrest and Lamar counties are encouraged to attend a public meeting this afternoon to learn about a proposed widening project on U.S. Highway 11. The event is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Okahola Community Center, located at 59 Old Okahola Road in Purvis.

The meeting is being held to discuss a conceptual design for the project, which aims to add lanes to the highway between 0.6 miles south of Interstate 59 and Old Okahola School Road. The project is a collaboration between local officials and the Federal Highway Administration, according to organizers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view exhibits, ask questions, and provide feedback on the proposal. Representatives from the project team will be present to present details and gather community input. The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to participate during the scheduled hours.

Further information about the project and the public meeting can be found in the comments section of the event post.
