Ripley Main Street receives $100,000 Hartford grant to launch Brown & Covington

Ripley Main Street said it received a $100,000 New & Expanding Accelerator Grant through The Hartford Small Business Accelerator Grant Program to create Brown & Covington, a downtown space to support local makers, entrepreneurs and workforce training.

The organization said Brown & Covington will feature and support six artisans from the community during its first year.

Ripley Main Street said the project was one of six communities nationwide to receive the grants. The group credited the Mississippi Main Street Association for nominating Ripley and thanked Main Street America and The Hartford for the opportunity.

Main Street America has posted details about the six communities selected, Ripley Main Street said. Ripley Main Street said it will share more information as Brown & Covington develops.
