Severe thunderstorms are expected to continue into the overnight hours across northern areas of the Mid-South, meteorologists said.
Forecasters said an approaching upper-level disturbance is interacting with a fairly unstable airmass, prolonging the severe weather threat through the night.
Damaging winds are the main hazard, meteorologists said, though marginally severe hail cannot be ruled out.
Officials urged residents in the affected areas to monitor local forecasts and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions, meteorologists said.
