Booneville teen arrested on child-molestation charges

An 18-year-old Booneville resident was arrested on child-molestation charges, the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department said.

The department identified the suspect as Preston Jeremiah Thomas and said he was charged with two counts of molestation — touching a child for lustful purposes — following a report of inappropriate touching of a 5-year-old child on Sunday, June 7.

Thomas appeared before Prentiss County Judge Craig Bishop, who set bond at $150,000, the sheriff’s department said.

The case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury, the department said.
