Adebola Festus Adekunle, a Nigerian national, has been extradited to the United States and charged in connection with sextortion allegations involving a Mississippi teenager, Walker Montgomery, who died by suicide.
Authorities allege that Adekunle engaged in a scheme to extort Montgomery through online messages, which ultimately contributed to the teen’s death, according to court documents.
Details about the charges and the case against Adekunle are not fully disclosed. He was arraigned in federal court and faces multiple counts related to sextortion and cybercrime, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
