Child injured by stray bullet in Jackson, police say

JACKSON, Miss. — Jackson police are investigating after a child was injured by a stray bullet May 30, 2026, in the area of York Drive, Detective Tommie Brown of the Jackson Police Department said.

Brown said the child was sitting in a yard when struck by the bullet.

He said investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
