Cloudy Monday in Columbus; showers and a line of storms expected Tuesday, WCBI says
Cloudy skies are expected in Columbus, Mississippi Monday, and a line of showers and storms is forecast to move across the area Tuesday, WCBI reported.
WCBI said a stray shower is possible Sunday evening, with mostly cloudy conditions otherwise and low temperatures in the upper 50s.
For Monday, WCBI forecasts persistent cloud cover through the morning and early afternoon. An isolated shower is possible, though most areas should remain dry. Highs are expected in the upper 70s, with gusty winds up to 20 mph at times.
WCBI says Tuesday will begin dry but an approaching low pressure system should bring showers and storms later in the day. The station reported a line of showers and storms is likely to begin impacting western counties in the afternoon and move across the rest of the area through the evening and overnight. Highs are expected in the low 80s.
WCBI added that the risk for strong to severe storms is currently low and exists mostly to the west, and forecasters will continue to monitor the system.
