Dry pattern to return after storms in Columbus area, WCBI says

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — A dry, warm weather pattern is expected to settle over the Columbus area next week after a final wave of storms moves through the region, WCBI reported.

WCBI said one last wave of storms was moving through Interstate 55 and would move southeast through the area. The station said the storms were not expected to be severe, but would produce a soaking rain and lightning. Overnight lows were forecast near 60 degrees.

The station said rain chances would taper off early the next day, but cloud cover was expected to linger. Highs were forecast to reach the upper 70s.

WCBI said high pressure should dominate most of the week, bringing dry and warm conditions. Afternoon temperatures were expected to stay in the low 80s through the workweek despite a dry cold front pushing through Wednesday.
