High-speed motorcycle chase ends in Crystal Springs; man arrested
A Mississippi man was arrested Monday after a more-than-30-mile motorcycle chase that reached speeds above 140 mph, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said.
The Capitol Police Department in Jackson said officers tried to stop a speeding motorcycle on an undisclosed portion of Ridgewood Road about 5:40 a.m. Monday. The rider fled, the department said, and authorities identified him as 33-year-old Kyle King.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said the motorcycle led officers through multiple roadways and onto Interstate 55 South, where speeds exceeded 140 mph. Officers followed the motorcycle until it reached Ruby Road in Crystal Springs, where the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office assisted in stopping and arresting King, the release said.
The Capitol Police Department said King is charged with felony fleeing and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia. The department added he also had outstanding warrants from surrounding jurisdictions.
