JTRAN union workers to strike Monday in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. — JTRAN union workers are scheduled to begin a strike at 4 a.m. Monday, July 13, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1208 said.

ATU Local 1208 said it has been unable to reach a contract agreement with MV Transportation, the contractor that operates JTRAN, and accused the company of engaging in unfair labor practices.

The union announced the planned walkout in a statement from ATU Local 1208. The statement said negotiations with MV Transportation had stalled, prompting the decision to strike.
