A disabled vehicle blocked the left southbound lane on I-55 past I-220 (Exit 104) in Madison County, producing heavy congestion and delays on the Jackson-area stretch of the interstate.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation on Facebook posted the lane blockage and warned drivers to expect delays. MDOT included a traffic map: https://www.mdottraffic.com/?a=564286.
MDOT posted an update at 3:45 p.m. on 9/16/26 saying the disabled vehicle had been cleared.
