Man Arrested for Desecration of Grave Sites in Meridian

Meridian police responded to a call on Friday at a gravesite where a local man was arrested for the desecration of cemetery or corpses.

Shamus Burcham was arrested in the Christmas Eve crime at McLemore Cemetery after a call came in at 11 a.m. that two males were walking around the gravesites with metal detectors in their possession.

The charge carries the weight of a misdemeanor.
