Man killed in Tupelo shooting; coroner identifies victim
Tupelo police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead, the Tupelo Police Department said. Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green identified the victim as Charles Burleson II, 43.
The department said officers were called to North Mississippi Medical Center about a gunshot victim with life-threatening injuries. Investigators determined the shooting happened at a Shell gas station on Briar Ridge Road Friday night, July 17, the department said.
Burleson later died of his injuries, Green said.
One suspect was taken into custody, and the Tupelo Police Department said the investigation remains active.
