MDOT warns severe weather could affect Mississippi Gulf Coast, south Mississippi roadways Friday night

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said in an early-morning Oct. 9, 2026 Facebook post that severe weather impacts are possible on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and south Mississippi roadways starting Friday night.

The agency directed motorists to check live road conditions by downloading the MDOT Traffic App (App Store / Google Play) or visiting MDOTtraffic.com.
