MHSAA season opens as MAIS continues Aug. 27-28

Mississippi high school football moved into full swing Aug. 27-28 as the Mississippi High School Activities Association kicked off its season Thursday and the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools continued play, according to the two organizations.

MHSAA play began Thursday night with a handful of games, the association said, followed by a full slate of games Friday night across both the MHSAA and MAIS schedules.

MAIS teams had been playing for the previous two weeks, according to schedules posted by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools.

Scores are being updated continuously and are presented by the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation, the publication said. The site’s coverage also includes audio streams of many games.
