Mississippi Power mobilizes more than 1,500 personnel ahead of Hurricane Isaias

GULFPORT, Miss. — Mississippi Power reported that it has staged more than 1,500 employees, contractors and support personnel to respond to customers affected by Hurricane Isaias, WXXV reported on Oct. 10, 2026.

The company has opened its storm center and is implementing its storm plan, WXXV said.

Storm directors and teams responsible for critical company functions have been meeting throughout the day to monitor the storm, coordinate logistics and oversee the response, the report said.

Mississippi Power is using data analytics and working with meteorologists to identify areas likely to be hardest hit and is shifting resources as needed, WXXV reported. The company said it remains in a strong position to respond to customers across its entire service area.
