Sandbags distributed across southern Mississippi ahead of Hurricane Isaias
SuperTalk Mississippi reported Oct. 8, 2026 that dozens of locations across southern Mississippi were distributing sandbags so residents can prepare for possible flooding as Hurricane Isaias approaches.
As of 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, SuperTalk Mississippi said Wayne, Perry and Stone counties were under a tropical storm watch; Hancock, Harrison, George and Green counties were under a tropical storm warning; and Jackson County was under a hurricane warning. The report said the National Hurricane Center had storm surge warnings in effect for the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast and that Isaias was expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds and flooding.
SuperTalk Mississippi said most sandbag sites are self-serve and residents should bring their own shovels. The report listed the following locations:
