Mississippi State will host an NCAA regional at Dudy Noble Field starting this weekend, the school said. It is the program’s first time hosting postseason play in five seasons.
The Diamond Dawgs will welcome three teams to Starkville for the regional, Mississippi State athletics said.
Commentators Brian Hadad and Carlo Barone said they were not surprised the Bulldogs were chosen as a host site. Both discussed their views on the selection and the team’s position entering the postseason.
Hadad and Barone said they did not buy into recent Sunday speculation that Mississippi State would not be awarded a host spot, and they outlined reasons for that skepticism in their discussion.
