Munson & Bros. draws visitors to Columbus with apothecary, pizza and beer garden
Munson & Bros. in downtown Columbus has become a multifaceted destination combining an apothecary, wood-fired pizza and an outdoor beer garden, Magnolia Tribune reported.
The publication said the business’s roots trace back to a vendor booth at HubFest in Hattiesburg, where a customer’s purchase of beard oil led to the discovery of Munson & Bros. Magnolia Tribune wrote that the beard-care products were only one part of a larger operation that later opened in Columbus.
Magnolia Tribune described the Columbus location as equal parts neighborhood hangout and artisan market. The story said shelves in the original apothecary display handcrafted soaps, candles, beard oils, balms and other artisan goods, while wood-fired pizzas made from scratch have earned a devoted following.
The outdoor beer garden, Magnolia Tribune reported, is intentionally family-friendly and hosts live music, open mic nights, trivia and other community events. The publication said the space often features string lights, music drifting through the courtyard and visitors lingering for extended periods.
Magnolia Tribune concluded that Munson & Bros. has become a regular gathering place for locals and visitors, where people return for the atmosphere as much as for pizza or handcrafted products. The publication recommended that visitors to Columbus make time to visit the business.
