Bethann “Hope” Durham completed Certified Nursing Assistant training and earned her High School Equivalency (HSE) in February 2026 through Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Adult Education and MIBEST programs, the college said.
The college’s Adult Education Facebook post says Durham began Adult Education classes in September 2025 and earned a Smart Start Credential during the program before enrolling in the MIBEST program in January 2026 and entering the CNA pathway.
According to the post, Durham was dual-enrolled in Adult Education classes while completing her CNA training so she could work toward her HSE at the same time. The MIBEST program covered her CNA tuition and provided supplies including scrubs, a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff.
The post names Amanda Janes as the MIBEST College & Career Navigator who supported Durham. It says Durham plans to pursue the phlebotomy pathway next and intends to enroll at Northeast Mississippi Community College in the fall of 2026 to work toward a nursing degree.
