Ohio State rises to No. 2 in AP Top 25; Miami remains No. 1, BYU falls to No. 8

Ohio State moved up to No. 2 in The Associated Press Top 25 while Miami remained No. 1 and BYU fell to No. 8 after its loss at UCF, WXXV News 25 reported.

WXXV News 25 reported the poll released Sunday showed Miami receiving 59 of 70 first-place votes, Ohio State receiving 10 and Utah receiving one. The top 10 in the AP Top 25 listed by WXXV News 25 are: No. 1 Miami, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Indiana, No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 6 Utah, No. 7 UCLA, No. 8 BYU, No. 9 Kentucky and No. 10 Alabama.

The report said Miami routed Pitt 52-23 at home and that Miami, Utah and UCLA are the only remaining unbeaten Bowl Subdivision teams, the fewest at this point in a season since 1977, according to Sportradar as cited by WXXV News 25.

WXXV News 25 noted recent movement in the poll: Oklahoma State returned at No. 24 after beating Colorado; Wisconsin entered at No. 25 after beating Southern California; Iowa and Southern California dropped out of the poll.

Additional poll notes reported by WXXV News 25 included: the Big 12 matching its record with six ranked teams; the Big 12 having more ranked teams than the Big Ten for the first time since 2023; and that 10 losses by top-10 teams over the last three weeks ties 2007 and 1959 as the most over a three-week span in AP poll history.
