Ole Miss moved to No. 4 in The Associated Press Top 25 after holding off LSU 32-24 on Saturday, and the Southeastern Conference placed 10 teams in the poll released Sunday, The Associated Press reported.
The Rebels jumped over LSU and three other teams for their first top-five ranking since they were No. 3 in the final poll last season; LSU slipped three spots to No. 10, The Associated Press said.
The Top 10 in the poll were: No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Miami, No. 7 Ohio State, No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 BYU and No. 10 LSU.
Texas received 58 of the 69 first-place votes on the Top 25 ballot. Indiana received four first-place votes; Georgia and Ole Miss received three apiece; Miami received one, according to The Associated Press.
Florida entered the rankings at No. 21 after a 44-39 road win over Auburn. Mississippi State returned to the Top 25 at No. 24 following a 41-34 comeback win at South Carolina; The Associated Press noted the Bulldogs are coached by Jeff Lebby and that quarterback Kamario Taylor led the comeback.
Louisville rose seven spots to No. 16 after beating SMU; SMU dropped to No. 22. Texas A&M fell from No. 9 to No. 23 after a 31-21 home loss to unranked Kentucky. Oklahoma dropped out of the Top 25 after a 14-6 win over New Mexico, and Virginia was knocked out following a 38-27 loss to West Virginia, The Associated Press reported.

The Associated Press also noted several poll milestones: Ohio State has been ranked in 100 straight Top 25 polls, BYU was ranked in the top 10 this early in a season for the first time since 2009, and Mississippi State recorded its highest September ranking since 2018.
