Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy to miss Auburn game after dislocating shoulder

Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy will not play in the Rebels’ upcoming game against Auburn after dislocating his shoulder, head coach Pete Golding confirmed during his Monday press conference, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.

Golding said Lacy suffered the dislocation in the second half of the 34-27 loss at Texas on Oct. 24. The coach added the injury is separate from another shoulder-related issue Lacy has dealt with this season and that Lacy is scheduled to undergo MRIs to determine the extent of the injury and a recovery timeline.

“With the combination of both of those [injuries], he’s obviously not going to play this week,” Golding said.

Lacy has missed parts of multiple games this season and did not play in the Sept. 26 loss at Florida. In his absence, Ole Miss (5-2, 3-2 SEC) has relied on Michigan State transfer Makhi Frazier and LSU transfer JT Lindsey, with Frazier recently emerging as the preferred No. 2 back on the depth chart.

Ole Miss and Auburn are scheduled to meet at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. CT. The game will air on the SEC Network and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.
