Ole Miss launches Heisman campaign for Chambliss, Lacy with Times Square and Sphere displays

Ole Miss launched a Heisman Trophy campaign for quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy, spotlighting the players on giant screens in New York City and Las Vegas, the athletics department said.

Last week multiple video screens in Times Square displayed “Trinidad Kewan ’26” and images of the two players, Ole Miss said. On Sunday morning the exterior of the Las Vegas Sphere showcased the Rebels, and Ole Miss Football tweeted that the display will continue leading up to the Sept. 6 season opener against Louisville in Nashville.

“Featuring our student-athletes on Sphere is a tremendous brand growth opportunity for Ole Miss,” Ole Miss Athletics Director Keith Carter said in a statement. “Trinidad and Kewan have put themselves in a position to be part of the national conversation for the Heisman Trophy and other awards, and this groundbreaking activation gives us a unique platform to celebrate them and share their stories with audiences from across the country and around the world.”

Ole Miss said Chambliss finished the 2025-26 season with nearly 4,500 all-purpose yards and 30 total touchdowns with three turnovers. The school described Lacy as an All-American who gained 1,567 rushing yards and scored 24 touchdowns on 306 carries. Ole Miss said the pair helped the Rebels win 13 games and reach the College Football Playoff semifinals.

At SEC Media Days, Chambliss said, “I think it’s awesome. I’m nothing without Kewan. He’s my partner in crime. If he wins it, I’m hyped up.” Lacy added, “Whether he wins or I win, we’re all winning.” Coach Pete Golding said he does not expect the campaign to be a distraction, telling reporters the players “are wired the right way” and will focus on doing what is necessary to win. Ole Miss said both returned to Oxford rather than follow former coach Lane Kiffin to LSU and remain focused on the season opener against Louisville.
