A Starkville man, Anthony Buchanan, has been arrested and is being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail with a Mississippi Department of Corrections hold.
WCBI reported Sept. 23, 2026, that Buchanan is charged with 23 counts of auto burglary and one count of felony of a motor vehicle in connection with a series of auto burglaries reported Sept. 15 in the Louisville Street area in southern Starkville.
WCBI also reported that Buchanan has previous charges in Starkville, including two charges of taking a motor vehicle and at least one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and that he was out on parole for auto burglary at the time of the latest arrest.
According to WCBI, Buchanan is currently in the Oktibbeha County Jail and the Mississippi Department of Corrections has placed a hold on him.
