Truck Driver for United Furniture arrested in Monroe County for taking furniture off of truck after getting notice of mass layoff

Audrey Garth, age 37 of Wren was arrested by MCSO deputies last night at around 7pm on McCallister Rd in Monroe County and has been charged with Grand Larceny.

911 Dispatch received a call concerning the removal of furniture from a United Furniture tractor/trailer that seemed suspicious.

Deputies responded to the area and made contact with the furniture truck not far from the scene where the call originated.

Garth, an employee of United Furniture, was the driver of the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.

Several pieces of furniture were recovered in a nearby parking lot, and United Furniture Industries took possession of the furniture and truck.

This is an ongoing investigation and there may be more arrests to come.
