Two killed in separate Mississippi crashes, state highway patrol says
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said two people were killed in separate crashes Saturday morning and that investigators are still gathering information.
The first crash occurred just before 8 a.m. May 9, 2026, on Highway 13 in Jefferson Davis County, the patrol said. A 2012 Chevrolet Avalon was traveling south on the highway, the agency said.
The patrol did not provide further details about that crash. It said a second, separate fatal crash also occurred Saturday morning, but did not release additional information about the location or circumstances.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating both crashes and did not immediately release the names of the victims, WHLT reported.
