Zane Miller of Booneville sentenced to 15 years for trafficking methamphetamine

On Oct. 1, 2026, Zane Miller, 32, of Booneville, was sentenced in the Prentiss County Circuit Court to 15 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the First Circuit District Attorney’s Office said in a press release posted Oct. 1, 2026.

Circuit Judge John R. White imposed the term after Miller entered guilty pleas to trafficking methamphetamine, the release said. Miller faced multiple drug charges in Alcorn and Prentiss counties, including trafficking and aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl with intent to sell.

The release states that under Mississippi law a defendant convicted of trafficking narcotics is not eligible for parole or any other form of early release; as a result, Miller will be required to serve the full 15-year sentence in prison.

Judge White also imposed an additional 25 years that was suspended on the condition Miller abide by the law following his release. Upon release from custody, Miller will be required to complete 5 years of post-release supervision with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the release said.

The charges resulted from investigations by the Booneville Police Department and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department, acting as part of the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, and the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department. The cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kyle Robbins on behalf of the State of Mississippi.

The press release was signed by Jason D. Herring, District Attorney, First Circuit Court District.
