Silly Sisters Opens New Shop on the Ripley Square
Downtown Ripley has a new storefront to visit. Silly Sisters Ripley has opened on the historic square at 118 North Commerce Street, and the Ripley Main Street Association welcomed the boutique on Thursday, saying its new storefront “looks beautiful” and is helping bring new life to the square.
The shop moved into the building shoppers may remember as the old Southern Sentinel office, right beside Tower Loan. Ripley Main Street shared a photo of the freshly painted sage-green brick front, with a bright pink Silly Sisters sign above the door, fall mums and topiaries at the entrance, and seasonal clothing on display in both windows.
Silly Sisters Ripley Hours and Location
According to the fall opening hours the business posted on its Facebook page, Silly Sisters Ripley is open:
- Monday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Address: 118 N. Commerce St., Ripley, MS 38663 (the old Southern Sentinel building, beside Tower Loan)
The business posts on Facebook as Silly Sisters /Online Booneville, where it shares new arrivals, specials and store updates.
First Saturday Specials on the Square
The shop kicked off its first Saturday in Ripley last weekend with a round of doorbuster deals. Items it advertised included $1 squishies, butter cubes in several colors (including patriotic and pink), Gildan sweatshirts with a print for $19.99, and most prints for $2. In its post, the business invited customers to “come park and shop the square.”
Prices and specials can change, so shoppers should check the store’s Facebook page for current deals before visiting.
Another Boost for Downtown Ripley
The opening adds to a busy fall stretch for downtown Ripley. Ripley Main Street, the nonprofit that works to renovate, revitalize and restore the city’s historic downtown district, has been promoting square businesses ahead of several big events:
- Spirit of Ripley Festival and Chili Cook-Off on the square Friday, Oct. 30.
- Holiday Open House for downtown merchants on Sunday, Nov. 1, from noon to 4 p.m.
- Ripley First Monday Trade Day on Highway 15 South this weekend, Oct. 3-4, which brings extra visitors to town.
New storefronts like Silly Sisters help fill downtown buildings and give shoppers another reason to spend time and money locally. Ripley Main Street regularly highlights new and longtime merchants on its Facebook page.
Residents who want to welcome the new shop can stop by during business hours or follow Silly Sisters on Facebook for updates.
