Amazon receives $600 million in Trump tariff refunds, plans to pass some to customers
Amazon said this week that it received hundreds of millions of dollars in refunds from tariffs imposed during the Trump administration. The company pledged to pass some of the savings on to its customers.
The refunds follow a Supreme Court decision earlier this year that declared many of the tariffs illegal. The ruling prompted the U.S. government to begin a process to return funds collected through those tariffs.
Amazon did not specify how much of the $600 million it plans to return or when the refunds will be issued. The company said it was committed to passing along savings where possible, in light of the legal developments.
