Detectives: Texas father received text before woman’s killing

After Alyssa Burkett was murdered, detectives quickly identified the prime suspect as the father of her child, Andrew Beard, investigators said.

Detectives said Beard received a text message before the killing that read, “I hope you handle it.”

As the investigation unfolded, detectives said they found evidence that Beard was not the only person involved in the murder plot.

Detectives declined to provide further details as the probe continues, authorities said.
